MM Cafe @ Section 17, Happy Mansion

Mastermind MM cafe serves value for money Western and Asian cuisine. Located at Section 17, Happy Mansion, very near to My Elephant and Food Foundry.

My Mr ordered a Beef Stroganoff with Butter Garlic Rice. Very yummie dish and fork tender.

Fish and chips - RM14.90, this is pretty ok, use fresh fish and no fishy smell. Well cooked and crispy.

The place has become well known for its wide range of home-made scrumptious desserts. Their brownie was voted one of the Best in Malaysia by readers of The Star newspaper. This is definitely a super rich chocolate brownie, it was so filling, we cant finish the Almond cake, but we manage to takeaway.

Suji Almond Cake  - taste more like butter cake to me.

Hot Chocolate, tasty!

Levain Boulangerie Patisserie

I was craving for a hearty breakfast on a Saturday morning. So we decided to head down to KL, to taste this scrumptious pastries in Levain Boulangerie Patisserie. Since after reading Jean's blog reviews on this patisserie, I have been dying to visit them.

This patisserie is tucked away in the quiet street of Jalan Delima, same row as Noble House chinese restaurant and next to Fukuya Japanese Restaurant. The outlook of Levain Boulangerie looks like a classy french bungalow. Levain Boulangerie Patisserie is owned and managed by Beryl’s Chocolate & Confectionery Sdn Bhd.

Already packed with customers on a Saturday at 11am. There are 3 dining areas: indoor dining area, outdoor al-fresco dining area, and a dining room upstairs. We like the al-fresco dining.

Variety of breads, but some were sold out! But they will restock them, since they will be baking fresh bread all day long. I can imagine the kitchen must be very busy.

Varieties of cakes!! I wanna try'em all!

Turkey and Egg RM3.20
These are super NICE and YummieEE!

From top right clockwise: Mini turkey ham and egg sandwich (RM5), Mushroom and turkey crispy pizza (RM4.80), Mango cheese tart (RM4.30), Peanut butter french (RM2.80).
I love the mushroom and turkey crispy pizza, like its name is really crispy and crunchy! The mango cheese tart is great too, am personally love tarts with thin layer of pastry crust. All freshly baked unlike the ones you buy from bakery.

Mini Ham and Egg sandwich.

Caramel French RM2.80

Beef bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and toast RM9.50
This is what I'd called a hearty breakfast! :)

Coco crunch Rm3.30

Beef curry donut RM3.80

Milk chocolate cheesecake RM9
Cream cheese and milk chocolate topped with white chocolate mousse.

Noisette RM8.50
Chocolate and mocha mousse layered with roasted hazelnuts as a crusty base.
Both dessert taste yummie!

1 Stop Cafe 大家乐咖啡店 @ Jalan Ipoh

1 Stop Cafe 大家乐咖啡店 is a modern classic Hainanese coffee shop tucked away in the corner shop lot of Jalan Balam, just Off Jalan Ipoh Batu-3, Kuala Lumpur. The business runs for 3 generations, the founder - Mr. Heng Teng Lee. Today, his grandson with 3 different chefs experienced in different gourmet styles, they revamped the look and also the menu of the shop. They still serves the old time Hainanese delicacy with a fusion of Western and Oriental touch.

One of their signature dish is the pumpkin pie 南瓜饼 (RM3.50), a finger food with a delectable steamed pumpkin filling with a crispy outer pumpkin shell coated with bread, crafted to look-like a pumpkin fruit. Very filling after eatin this.

Tortilla 多弟啦烧饼(RM3.50), a must try light snack. The tortilla skin is made of thin outer layer of omelette wrapped around the filling of cheese and chicken ham cooked in char siu sauce. One bite on it, the cheese oozing out from the tortilla, yummie!

Lobak chicken 五香卤肉 (RM3.50)
Taste very home cook for this dish, lightly fried with thin layer of skin on the outer part. Personally i do not like lobak which has thicker outer layer skin. This suits my taste. The chili sauce that comes with it blends deliciously.

Lala Clam Fried Beehoon 啦啦炒米粉 (RM7.50)
Am a fan of Beehoon. I love this dish very much, the baby lala and prawns are fresh. Not too strong seafood smell in this beehoon. Not too salty either.

Anchovies Seafood Fried Rice 银鱼海鲜炒饭 (RM5.90)
A decent homely cook style, not too salty or strong seafood smell in this fried rice.

Pear and Sea Coconut 雪梨海底椰 (RM4.50)
From first glance, the clear liquid gives us the thought this might be tasteless. We were wrong, the dessert is not tasteless at all! They were not stingy with their ingredients at all. Look at the spoonful of sea coconuts, chinese almond nuts, pears and dates etc give out the sweetness in the dessert.

1 Stop Cafe also has an extensive list of natural juices and smoothies that was thoroughly researched and tested by Heng and the chefs.

Digestive Tonic 神采飞扬 (RM5.90)
Made up of carrot, pear and apple.
Triple Milk Tea 三宝奶茶 (RM3.80)

Glimpse of the sweet dessert and health soup menu.

Overall, the food here is reasonable priced, and taste like decent homely cook dishes with no or less MSG. If you have a strong taste bud, you might not enjoy your meals here. I would go back to try their hand-roasted coffee on my next visit.

Cafe Vienna Revisited

A revisit to Cafe Vienna last weekend with some frens. It is always best to share food together, that way you get to try different types of food and shared the happiness together. How awesome is that! :)) If you have missed reading my first entry on Cafe Vienna, click here to visit my Vienna escape!

Food we ordered:
Vienna Schnitzel Sandwich RM21
Fried breaded Chicken breast on a Ciabatta bread with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The ingredients are very fresh and the yummy cheese melts in the mouth with fresh Ciabatta bread.

Vienna Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel) RM18
A super flaky crust with a mildly sweet Apple, raisins and crunchy walnut served with vanilla sauce. We love this apple strudels here! I reckon this is the best apple strudel I've ever tasted in KL! Say goodbye to other apple strudels.

Salzburger Nockerl RM16
Souffle that assemble the 3 mountains of Salzburg served hot with cream, apricot jam, raspberry and chocolate sauce. This is yummy, and addictive, I could eat this all day! Love the medium soft texture and aromatic butter and egg taste in the souffle. We heart this!

Flavored Coffee with Butterscotch RM12
There are few other flavours you can choose from - Noisette, Vanilla, Peppermint, or Caramel.

Melange (Cappuccino) RM10.50
The cup is filled half way up with coffee and topped with foamed milk

Einspanner RM11
An aromatic double mocha topped with whipped cream

We also love the coffee and it taste original as the coffee in Italy. Hope this cafe will stay for a long time to come.

Back to Europe - Cafe Vienna

Recently, I've came acrossed Fatin's blog review on desserts in Cafe Vienna.
Took the opportunity to drop by Lot10 after shopping at Pavilion.
Fell in love with the cafe at first sight!
Further reading, you will see more of pictures taken inside of the Cafe. :P
The interior of the cafe is beautiful and classical music at the background, creates the European ambience in Cafe Vienna.

My table was right infront of the dessert counter. This is a killer to me!! The desserts are calling me!! arghh...

Notice there are different dining furniture. The one I seated was Al-fresco dining style with a classic Michael Thonet chairs with marble tabletops.

Towards the back of Cafe Vienna, a more cosy corner. Big comfort vintage sofa and lounge plush chair, looks so comforting. Unfortunately that table already reserved. Next time if I[m coming with a group of gals, definitely will take that corner, so we can kick off our heels and gossip and sipping teas n munching desserts. Bliss!!

Modern and stylish dining chairs on the other side of the Cafe. Love the paintings on the walls. Very classical paintings, reminds me my university days reading and analysing art from the classical and romantic era.

Another of my favourite, vintage clocks!!! Classic collections!

Check out the mirror reflection on the ceiling. There is a real piano there with no pianist yet. Heard they were lookin for a pianist. Hopefully by then we get to hear classical pieces 'live'.

Nice chandeliers.
The food is resonably priced, served European cuisine, classic coffees, homemade desserts and pastries.

I ordered a Kaese Spaetzle (Cheese with Austrian noodles) - RM29.50
Spatzle served with sauteed onions, mushrooms, parsley, turkey ham, gruyere cheese and a touch of cream.
This is So GOOD! The mushrooms were very fresh a nd smells superbly good! Seriously, I hardly tasted any mushrooms that smells as good as this. Everything blends perfectly, and am happy that the cream is not too thick.

Cheese Strudels - RM16.80
Flaky crust filled with ricotta cheese, lemon, raisin and served with vanilla sauce. This is served warm and its rich in texture. Actually I cant finish eating this, since both dishes i order are CHEESE!! How could i resist them??!! I can't even walked after consuming all the food.

Weiner Eiskaffee (Vanilla ice coffee) -RM16
- double mocha served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream topping.

Cappuccino - RM10.50

Will definitely come back to try the Chicken Schnitzel and other desserts.
