Alice in Wonderland is the new black!!

After the launch of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland movie, the eccentric world of Alice-inspired of fashion and beauty has brought to reality! We were all going Wonderland crazy, including my 2 blogger frens, Fatin and Miu both of them dig into having Mad hatter's or Alice in Wonderland tea parties. But is all fun, madness and creativeness!

Big fashion label like John Galliano, Christian Dior, Chanel, and Kinder Aggugini just had their Fairytale fashion inspired by the AIW featured on New York runways. Particularly love Kinder's spring collection, below are my favourites!!

Next spotted OPI nail lacquer AIW limited edition! “Absolutely Alice” - Alice’s signature light blue. “Off With Her Red!” for the Red Queen; “Thanks So Muchness” - White Queen. The glittery “Mad as a Hatter,” which is a hazy purple hue contaminated with pounds of shimmering rainbow confetti.

Urban Decay pounced on Disney’s invite to create a palette especially for the film. Their Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows highlights 16 best-selling eye shadows, two mini eyeliner pencils, and a shadow primer.

I also bumped into this blog Little Maketto - Min the blogger/seller, sells her handmade accessories, but this AIW cute ear rings are special imports from overseas and non-stockable (criessss!), They're selling at a reasonable price!! RM25 !! So adorable!!

I adore this AIW charms from Etsy

Another piece from www.claires.com, price at £6.50

Jili Allen is an up-and-coming shoe designer, currently crafting some stunning pairs inspired by AIW. Check out this cool shoes!!

Paul and Joe AIW beauty collection! These are so lovely and cute, I think this is a good keep! Selling at 25 pounds. Isetan S'pore sellin at S78 dollar. More info at Haru's blog.

Cafe Barbera, Bangsar

A blogger friend of mine, Fatin has blogged about this cafe not long ago. I was so tempted to try after reading her blog on Cafe Barbera. Copied this from her blog - "Cafe Barbera is a franchise of an Italian based food and beverage company, Barbera Caffe co. It has its origins in Messina Italy, since 1870." It has a history of over 139 years of the finest preparations of gourmet coffees in Italy.

So tempted to try after reading her blog. So I plan a coffee gathering session for my beloved colleagues. Since am not much of a coffee person, but i know they are. I cant drink too strong coffee, if I did, will experience something worst than a "hang-over", nausea, heart beating in fast pace, sweating, light-headiness.

Anyway, I find Cafe Barbera, has its own building, looks more like a Italian mansion. It's pretty cool, we don't need to fly to Italy to drink coffee, now we can do it here in Bangsar. :) You definitely feel you were in Italy, as they put on Italian classical music. Interior was quite simple and nice.

We ordered several diff types of coffee and dishes:

Cappuccino Frappe - thickness and richness of the cream.

The waiter recommended us this dessert - Chocolate Fondant, takes about 15 mins to served. Top with ice cream, and inner part of the fondant is warm choc cream, when you take a slice of it, the choc cream is oozing out, hmm...yummilicious!!

Venezia coffee, real coffee beans sprinkled on top! This is quite strong, coz it has espresso in it.

Ooo...I heart pizza with beef pepperoni!! Only at RM19.50! Better than Domino's, and they're almost on the same price range.
Coffee Affogato, yummy to drink w ice cream in it, taste sweet, but after finish the ice cream left the coffee, the bitterness is back.

Grilled chicken and friend's pizza! Top with olives, cheese, etc cant remember. It's good, but i still prefer beef pepperoni pizza.

Food: Above average
Price: average, reasonable
Service: Excellent
Parking: can be a problem, as outside the cafe is the main street which has yellow lines can't be parked. We park inside the cafe, but limited space.

Uncle Duck Restaurant (HK), BTS

I used to complained about the food in Berjaya Times Square. Now I've found a good place to eat which serves HK style cuisine - Uncle Duck Restaurant(得哥火锅餐厅). They serve varieties of rice, noodles, porridges, steamboat! Lots of things to try and never gets bored.

Especially when comes to my favourite and i think this is the best Wantan Mee in the whole of KL or Malaysia!! When i first ate them, the noodles so springy. As you can see the wantan mee is very plain and clear, but it's delicious and tasty. Unlike other wantan mee cooked but not so springy after all, and normal ones will add some sauce on it. This one is Ichiban!! It gives me the chills!! I will order this whenever I visit here again. The taste is so Hongkee style, and yes we're right about it! The restaurant is a branch opened by a chef in HK, named Marco ma, aka Uncle Duck.

My personal opinion, this is the Best wantan mee in the whole world!!

I also ordered this beef steamboat set!! It's yummy, price not more than RM20.
Like i said before the steamboat sets ranges from mixed set to fish, chicken, beef, mutton, seafood or roasted duck set. The soup base also lots of choices to pick from duck bone congee to tomato and fish, chicken, coriander and century egg, Hong Kong satay soup, extreme spicy, chinese ginseng..etc...

Love this place, reasonably priced.
Good service.
Variety of food to choose.

Easter Eggs and Bunny Rabbits!

I was in the mood of Alice in Wonderland craziness, and now talkin abt White Rabbit and Mad Hare, had me thinking of Easter Eggs!! Easter is around the corner! Time to pack some easter eggs and give out as gifts to your dearest frens and family!

I dig up the meaning on Easter eggs frm wikipedia, it says:

Easter eggs are specially eggs given to celebrate the Easter holiday or springtime. The egg was a symbol of rebirth of earth in celebrations of spring and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus.

The oldest tradition used dyed or painted chicken eggs, now modern custom is substitute by chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionary such as jelly beans. These eggs were often hidden, allegedly by the Easter Bunny for children to find them on Easter morning. Another folklore about easter egg is a symbol of the start of new life, just as new life emerges from an egg when the chick hatches out.

I have found out that Delicious Ingredients at Dua Annexe and Bangsar Village II sell beautiful easter goodies! Check out the pictures below:

Assorted Foiled Eggs- RM8.00 each: Creamy milk chocolate from an artisanal, Australian chocolatier, cheerfully wraped in metalic foil wrappers. I think i could afford this.

Yesterday went to Fatin's Chocolate Cats' Tea Party @ Full House Lifestyle Store, near KLCC. I WON!!!! Thank U Kiehl's and all who supported me!!

Finally I've won the Kieh's Acai Berry Comic in Facebook! I am so delighted and thanks for all the votes and Kiehl's!! Collected my prize at Kiehl's One utama, my full range of Kiehl's Acai Berry skincare!
I have gathered more info from Splendicity.com:

This four-product anti-aging skincare regimen uses the antioxidant-rich Açaí Berry Extract to protect and repair damaged skin, and is clinically proven to combat environmental aggressors, protect skin from the first signs of aging, and repair environmental damage that’s occurred over time.

IT’S A FULL ACAI REGIMEN
. While other brands have utilized Açaí’s remarkable antioxidant properties in individual products, this is the first full skincare collection (cleanser, toning mist, serum, moisturizer) utilizing Açaí to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone, increase luminosity and renew skin vitality.

IT’S PERFORMANCE PROVEN. Clinical testing on this product (see details in attached release) showed that a significant percentage of testers using the products reported that their skin felt years younger. The formulas use antioxidant-rich Açaí Berry Extract (Açaí Berries have 15 x the antioxidants of the red grape) to combat environmental aggressors and stimulate skin’s natural renewal process to improve and maintain the look of healthy skin.

IT’S ALL NATURAL AND ORGANIC. This is Kiehl’s very first, fully 100% natural origin collection, and the first full collection by Kiehl’s that’s Ecocert Certified Organic 100% Natural Origin—all four products are certified as an organic product by Ecocert.

IT’S CRADLE TO CRADLE CERTIFIED. Cradle to Cradle measures the Eco-Intelligence of products, including ingredients, packaging, manufacturing, sourcing and labor. All packaging is recyclable, and three of the four products are packaged in post consumer recycled (PCR) packaging.

Açaí Damage-Repairing Skincare is the ideal reparative and preventative regimen for those experiencing the first signs of aging as a result of overexposure to environmental aggressors and free radicals. And, as it’s new mid-September, those coming off of a summer in the sun will especially want to use the range to help repair accumulated seasonal damage.

The collection includes Açaí Damage-Minimizing Cleanser, Açaí Damage-Protecting Toning Mist; Açaí Damage-Repairing Serum; and Açaí Damage-Correcting Moisturizer. The “star” of this collection is our Açaí Damage-Repairing Serum which contains the most concentrated amount of the Açaí ingredient, and can easily be incorporated into one’s present skincare regimen.
